Eid-el-Fitr: Lana felicitates Muslim faithful
As Muslim faithful in Oyo State and Nigeria join their counterparts all over the world to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-fitri, a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo State, Barrister Michael Lana has enjoined Muslim Ummah in Oyo Central and Oyo State in general to embrace peace and tolerance among themselves.
Lana who is a Senatorial aspirant in Oyo Central Senatorial district, in a Sallah message he personally signed, while congratulating the Muslim Ummah on successfully completing this demanding spiritual obligation, thanked Almighty Allah (SWT) for the grace to witness this year’s Eid-el-fitri celebration after the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He enjoined Muslims to live in love, compassion and sacrifice which are major demands of Allah from all Muslim Ummah, urging them to imbibe and practise the virtues that entail kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, compassion as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
According to him, “I want to sincerely congratulate Muslims in Oyo Central Senatorial district and our dear state for successfully witnessing the end of this year’s Ramadan fasting period, which came with tough spiritual challenges that were designed to strengthen their Iman. “At the heart of the faith and a major demand on all faithful is the requirement to commit themselves to wholesome living. This entails love for one another, love for fellow humans regardless of creed, region and ethnicity, love for our Senatorial District, our state and love for Nigeria.
“It is important that we all continue to live with the spirit of love, peace, sacrifices, holiness and harmony which Ramadan requires and it is important that we must become better citizens in line with the teachings of Prophet Muhammed.” The member of the Oyo State Advisory Council then prayed that the peace, blessings, and favour of Allah be with everyone, Oyo Central Senatorial District and Oyo State during this festive season and beyond.
