Road Traffic Offender Gets One-Month Jail Term
The Federal Road Safety Corps has prosecuted some road traffic offenders and recovered a heavily overloaded vehicle conveying persons and motorcycles under highly hazardous conditions.
In a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, a mobile court in Abia State, sentenced one Azubuike Dominic to one month imprisonment at Afara Correctional Centre after he was apprehended for driving a commercial vehicle, without a valid driver’s licence and subsequently absconded with an FRSC Arresting Marshal while being escorted to court.
In another intelligence-led enforcement in Nyanya, FCT, FRSC Marshals discovered 15 persons and eight motorcycles dangerously concealed among goods beneath a sealed trampoline, a clear violation of road safety regulations.
