Revealed: Ex-Defence Chief Christopher Musa Emerges Replacement of Badaru Abubakar As Nigeria’s Defence Minister
Immediate past Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa (rtd.), is set to be appointed Nigeria’s Minister of Defence following the resignation of Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, senior government insiders confirmed on Monday.
General Musa met President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday evening—his first public engagement with the President since being retired from service on October 24, 2025.
According to top government sources, President Tinubu informed Musa during the meeting that he would “succeed Badaru as Defence Minister.”
