Lam Adesina Lived An Exemplary Life – Olaoluwa
The Atayese of Fiditi and President, Peter Olaoluwa Foundation (POF), has been described as a political legend who lived an exemplary life, devoid of any controversy.
Olaoluwa stated this in a statement commemorating the 2025 annual Lam Adesina Lecture Series in honour of former Governor of Oyo State and remembrance of Late Alhaji Lamidi Onaolapo Adesina.
Olaoluwa said that Lam Adesina was a father, a thorough-bred politician and a stateman who would not shy away from doing the right thing no matter whose ox is gored.
He described Olaoluwa as a teacher, historian, philosopher, and politician, which exemplified the strength of one man’s will to challenge the status quo.
OPA added that democratic steps the nation enjoys today owe much to the sacrifices of people like Lam Adesina, who dared to defy tyranny.
He explained that as a governor of Oyo State from 1999 to 2003, Lam brought his deep sense of purpose and philosophy into the public sphere, ensuring that politics is seen as more than the pursuit of power, but a platform to inspire change and shape society with wisdom and integrity.
He further stressed that Lam Adesina’s life challenges people to think deeply about the kind of society they will want to build.
Olaoluwa, a 2027 governorship aspirant in Oyo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) said the legacy of “Great Lam” is an enduring message of resilience, of courage in the face of adversity, and of loyalty to the principles of justice and equity.
OPA, a Chartered Accountant turned politician, said the life of the former governor reminds that true leadership is a journey marked by humility, selflessness, and an unyielding belief in the power of good conscience.
