PDP Crisis: Stop Playing God, Oyo PDP Cautions Wike ..nothing must happen to gov makinde
An Oyo State stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Olawale Oladoja has cautioned the minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike to stop playing God over the current purposely organised internal crisis in the party. Oladoja, who is also the Mogaji of Akinsola’s compound, Opo Labiran, Ibadan, stated this in a release on Tuesday made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
He said that only God chooses a leader and not people with selfish and greedy interests like Nyesom Wike and his cohorts. Oladoja handed that the warning following continue decimation of PDP by the Pro-Wike led faction in the party. Reacting to several court judgements and injections arising from the internal crisis, Oladoja urged Wike and his acclaimed led caretaker committees to retrace their step from political oblivion as nobody can play God not even Wike.
He described PDP as a three planted by God that c not be uproot by disgruntled politicians like Wike because it has been destined to take the people of Nigeria out of dungeon. He added that Wike has not played political maturity since he lost to the PDP presidential ticket to Abubakar at the 2022 party’s National Presidential Primary and also missed the Vice Presidential ticket to Okowa in 2023. Oladoja further stressed that people of Nigeria knew whom they are going to vote for come 2027 presidential election but Wike, as a respected leader of the people should stop overheating the politics with his ongoing in- house friction against the party that made him politically relevant.
He said it will be a difficult task for Wike and his group to destroy the party that is more than a person because he lost election at the presidential primary. He advised Governor Wike to adopt internal mechanism of conflict resolution to settle all the grievances within his party instead of adding more injuries to the current problems facing by Nigeria masses under the current ruling party at the national level. “For some of us in the PDP, we can not continue to fold our arms because of the danger the minister is dragging, not only PDP into but Nigeria as a whole. We can not go into a one party state as being planned by Wike and his cohorts.
“Let me also say that the safety of Governor Makinde is very important and the nation would be shot down if any untold thing happened to him on the course of the instability bringing on by Wike and his people,” he concluded.
Oladoja specifically warned that Nigeria must not go back to the era of NPN/UPN in the country with many precious and leading lives cut shot in their prime. He said it is absurd the PDP that has produced three Nigeria presidents has now been reduced to the level it is now due to selfishness and greed by its leaders.
