Adeoti Cuts Ties With Aregbesola, Withdraws From Omoluabi Progressives, Cites Family Pressure and Need for Political Break

Former Secretary to the Osun State Government, Alhaji (Hon.) Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, has announced his withdrawal from the Omoluabi Progressives, a political group he co-founded alongside former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

In a letter dated November 30, 2025, and addressed to the group’s chairman, Adeoti who also served as the Deputy Leader of the Omoluabi Progressives in Osun formally disclosed that he would no longer participate in the organisation’s activities.

He described the decision as difficult, noting that he had spent years investing in the group’s stability and survival, particularly during its most challenging moments.

Adeoti further explained that persistent pressure from his immediate and extended family played a major role in prompting his exit, adding that he intends to take “a short rest from all political activities” to focus on personal well-being.

The former SSG expressed appreciation to the group’s leadership and members for the confidence reposed in him over the years and wished them success in their future endeavours.

His withdrawal is viewed as a significant development within the Omoluabi Progressives, a faction known for its considerable influence in Osun State’s political landscape.
