Lagelu Indigenes Club Congratulates Oba Ladoja On His Coronation as 44th Olubadan
..calls for peaceful resolution of Odo Oba boundary dispute
Ibadan Socio-Cultural group, Lagelu Indigenes club on Friday joined well wishers and entire Indigenes of Ibadan to congratulate the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen.) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1 on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers.
The club in a congratulatory message signed by its President, Soji Oguntola and made available to journalists in Ibadan through its Publicity Secretary
Alh Abiodun Akinkunle, felicitates His Imperial Majesty the Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja Arusa1 on his coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadan land.
“It is our prayers that your reign be marked by wisdom, justice, and prosperity for the people of ibadan land.
“May you rule with kindness, compassion, and strength, bringing peace and happiness to your kingdom.
“On this historic occasion, Lagelu Indigene club is calling on your imperial majesty to use your Influence and divine wisdom to bring unity and peace to all royal fathers in yoruba land.
“We hope your leadership will bring about a new era of growth, unity, and progress for ibadan land, Yoruba race and the entire Nation as a whole.”
Lagelu Indigenes Club recalled that Ibadan had always been at the forefront of liberation of Yoruba land like that of 1840 during the Jalumi war when they fought fulani jihadist to a standstill to free yoruba from intimidation and oppression.
It added that, in the present day realities the only Jalumi war is to have Ibadan state during this time, and called on Olubadan, Oba Ladoja to use his Influence to attract investment to Ibadan land and reduce the menace of land grabbing within Ibadan land.
LIC also urged the Paramount ruler to use his influence to resolve the boundary dispute at Odo Oba between Lagelu Local Government and Iwo Local Government.
“This dispute has attracted the attention of the National Boundary Commission with verifiable evidences that Odo-oba community and adjourning villages belong to lagelu local government, Oyo state and not Iwo Osun state.
“Yet no concrete step had been taken to stop osun state from invading this community.
“Your imperial majesty must also look into the issue of uncontrolled sales of ancestral land located within the inner city of ibadan to foreigners which has greatly eroded the identity of family compounds.
“Once again Your Majesty, we congratulate you on your ascension to the throne. May you be guided by the principles of justice, equality, and mercy, and may Ibadan land flourish under your rule.”
