PDP Backs Makinde For 2027 Presidency
After months of consultation and several stakeholders meeting, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP on Monday backs the Presidential ambition of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, after it zoned the 2027 Presidential ticket to the South.
In a communique issued after the 102nd meeting of the National Executive Committee of the party held in Abuja, said “the Presidential candidate of the party for the 2027 general election is hereby zoned to the Southern region.”
According to the party, all national office positions currently in the southern and northern region of the country are retained in the regions respectively.
The PDP then called on the region to immediately micro-zone positions within its regions for implementation.
It would be recalled that there had been calls from several quarters on gov Makinde to declare for the nation’s presidency come 2027.
