2027 Presidency Race Begins As Makinde Set For Consultations

Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde is to commence his annual leave following his notification of the state legislators to proceed on one month leave.
The letter which was read at Tuesday’s plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin was in compliance with section 190 (1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, which mandates the governor to transmit a written notice to the House before proceeding on leave.
Many political observers see this as a step by Governor Makinde to embark on massive and wide consultations ahead of the People’s Democratic Party primary and coming Party elective convention.
Speaking with The Prominent News, a PDP stalwart in the state who pleaded for anonymity said the decision by the governor is a step in the right direction.
“Yes, Oga has done the right thing, and we are waiting for the right time to begin the political movement for Governor Makinde.”
